<p>PURPOSE:To dephosphorize and desulfurize a molten iron alloy which is adjusted to contain Si at a specific value or below and is removed from slag, without producing harmful slag by adding a flux contg. oxides and halides of alkaline earth metals at specific ratios to said molten iron alloy and adding an oxidizing agent under stirring. CONSTITUTION:A molten iron alloy is beforehand desiliconized and is removed from slag in an electric furnace to contain Si therein at <=0.20wt%. A flux consisting of 30-50wt% >=1 kinds among oxides of alkaline earth metals and the balance >=1 kinds among halides of alkaline erath metals is added to such molten metal and an oxide is added thereto under stirring. The formed slag is removed. The oxides of alkaline earth metals are BaO, CaO, MgO, etc. and halides are BaCl2, BaF2, CaCl2, etc. and about <=300kg flux per ton of the molten metal is added. The oxide to be added is a chromium oxide, iron oxide, etc. and is added to the extent at which the formed slag is not hardened.</p> |
