The load sensing device is in the form of a dynamometer. It essentially comprises a body 1 having two stages 2, 3 with different rigidities which define two superimposed compartments 2a, 3a separated by a partition 4. A stop 5, 8 is fixed to each compartment leaving a space between it and the partition 4. A measuring system formed by a push-button 12 and a feeler 13 is mounted in the shaft of the body 1 in order to detect firstly the deformation of the first stage 2 and secondly the deformation of the second stage 3 due to a load applied to the part 1b of the body 1. Application, for example, to monitoring the loads applied to a component being treated by an automatic machine such as a press. <IMAGE>
