The automatic adjuster for vehicle drum brakes has a length-adjustable power transmission member, subjected to thrust load and located between a toggle and a pair of brake shoes. The toggle can be actuated by a ram. A disc, positioned on a toggle shaft, engages on one side parts of the transmission members. - The other side of the disc (19) has radial grooves (22) and webs (23) which are engaged by a sprung pawl (20), rigidly fastened to the toggle shaft (4), to form a one-way ratchet clutch.(3,7/10)
