PURPOSE:To stabilize the shape and dimensional accuracy of a composite wire and to improve joint strength by providing a taper of a specific angle on the inside in the bearing part of an extrusion die, extruding coating metals on the core wires with such extrusion die and coating the metals on the core wires. CONSTITUTION:Core wires (a) are inserted into an extruder 1 from its nipple 3 and are extruded from an extrusion die 4. Coating metals 5, 5' inserted between the core wires (a) are pressurized with rams 2, 2' for pressing and the metals 5, 5' are extrusion-coated around the wires (a) by the die 4, whereby the unevenly coated metallic composite wire is produced. A flat part A and a tapered part B are provided in the bearing part of the die 4, and the angle theta of the part B is set at 30-70 deg.. The size of the part A and the part B, that is, the length (l) of the bearing is preferably set at least at about >=1mm.. |
