<p>Device for attracting specific insects to a predetermined site comprises (a) a synthetic resin body contg. a pheromone (I) which is an attractant for the male or female insects, and (b) "means" for controlled release of (I) in vapour form at a rate sufficient to attract the insects. The improvement is that at least part of the external surface of the body has a coating contg. an insecticide in an amt. sufficient to control the insects (i.e. kill them or render them incapable of reproduction). The device is stated to minimise the amt. of insecticide per unit surface area and the amt. of insecticide required to obtain the maximum effect on the insect population at the predetermined site.</p> |
