PURPOSE:To enable good fixing with a small amt. of power consumed even when a toner is placed on the surface of paper irregularly in thickness, and to render the heating device usable for the fixing device, heat developing device, etc. of an electrophotographic apparatus, an electrophotostatic recorder, etc., by using a roller having a heat-resistant elastic layer on the circumferential surface. CONSTITUTION:A heating roller 1 is thermally isolated from the main body of a machine and frames 13, 13' with heat-resistant sleeves 11, 11' and heat-resistant gears 14, 14', rendering heat loss through them very small. Since a thin heat- resistant elastic material layer is used on the outer circumference as a heating roller, fixing efficiency can be further enhanced. As said elastic material, heat- vulcanizable silicone rubber, room-temp. vulcanizable silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, fluorine rubber, epichlorohydrine rubber, or any of said rubbers contg. titanium oxide, nickel oxide, cobalt oxide, or the like metallic oxides, metal-plated metallic oxides, such as TiO2, or carbon black as fillers, are effective. |
