PURPOSE:To pack a granular material into a pipe wire while allowing the granular material to remain in the pipe wire, by providing a filter to one end of the pipe wire and supplying the granular material entrained in a gas into the pipe wire from the other end. CONSTITUTION:A gaseous carrier and a granular material may be beforehand mixed and then be blown. The gas out of a filter 2 is sucked with a vacuum pump 8 to assist the passage of the gas through the filter 2. The granular material is somewhat coarser than fine powder and particularly the material having nearly a spherical shape and >=0.2mm. average grain size is preferred. If vibration is applied on the granular material in the stage of supplying the same into the pipe wire, the packing is accomplished faster. Air is not usable as the gaseous carrier on account of presence of N2 in the production of a flux cored welding wire. He, CO2, Ar, or a gaseous mixture of Ar and H2, CO2 or O2 is used in such a case. |
