Vehicle ball coupling for trailer

The vehicle-trailer coupling fitted on a cross-member (1), is provided with a housing (2) for a removable trailer coupling part (3) and comprises on its rear surface a shock absorbing foam pad (4) which is covered by a plastic cover (5). The pad is fitted to the cross-member by plastics clips (6). The clips fit into holes (7) in the cross-member to provide a detachable connection. The plastics cover is in the form of a bumper bar so that the cross-member serves a dual purpose. The coupling can alternatively be fixed onto the cross member as a fixed ball coupling.
