A credit card of laminated structure having printed indicia 17, Fig. 3, a fraud preventing element 19 and photo-electrically encodable apertures 15 is formed by an information sheet 13 made of an opaque vinyl chloride, an intermediate sheet 12 made of a translucent vinyl chloride and a transparent protective sheet 14, the sheets being laminated to one another under heat and pressure, whereby the material of the intermediate layer flows into the apertures 15 in information sheet 13. The element 19 may be made of a material which is detectable either magnetically or electrostatically. |
