Imidazo:diazepine derivs. - anticonvulsives and anxiolytics of low toxicity

Imidazodiazepine derivs. of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are new (where A together with the 2C atoms to which it is attached formed a gp. of formula (a), (b), (c) or (d); B is dimethylene, trimethylene or propenylene; R1 is H, halogen, CF3, NH2, NO2, CN or lower alkyl; R2 is H, halogen, CF3, NO2, NH2, CN,lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio, lower alkylsulphinyl or lower alkyl sulphonyl; the C atom labelled with an asterisk, is in either S or R,S configuration). (I) are anticonvaleives and anxiolytics, and are of very low toxicity. 21 Cpds. (I) are specifically claimed, including t-butyl-(S)-12,12a- dihydro-9-oxo-8-(trifluoromethyl) 9H,11H-azeto (2,1-c)imidazo (1,5-a) (1,4)-benzodiazepin-1-carboxylate.
