PURPOSE:To feed a developer to a prescribed developing position without scattering a developer layer, by applying a charge opposite in polarity to an electrostatic latent image to a doctor blade installed near the surface of a developer holding roll, and applying such a charge to the surface of the conductive one- component type developer. CONSTITUTION:The holding roll 1 is rotated in the arrow direction to feed the developer 4 out of a developer hopper 3 toward the doctor blade 5, and when the developer comes between the roll 1 and the blade 5, -500V voltage is applied to the developer with the blade. Since positive opposite charge is induced on the surface of the roll 1 in the inside of a thin insulating film 2, the developer layer is attracted to the roll 1 by the Coulomb' force, and supplied to the developing position opposed to a photosensitive drum 7 without being scattered to develop an electrostatic latent image on the surface of said drum 7. |
