PURPOSE:To enable guarantee of a good image display state of a belt by comparatively simple constitution, by allowing a contact member to repeat actions of pressing a belt in the region of an image display part, and releasing the belt in accordance with the timing of intermittent drive of the belt. CONSTITUTION:When the surface of a photosensitive belt 8 is exposed to laser beams and developed to form an image by the cooperation of a developing device 13, the belt 8 is moved in the direction of arrow A, a plunger 21 is in an off-state, a stopping plate 15 is lifted by the action of a spring 20 fixed to the end of a lever 18, and at the same time, the plate 15 is moved on the left side by the rotation actions of the levers 18, 19, thus leaving the belt 8 in a state of noncontact. Next, the belt 8 having completed the image formation is stopped at the prescribed position of the display part to display the image, the plunger 21 is actuated to turn the levers 19, 18 in the right direction, and the plate 15 is held in contact with the belt 8. |
