<p>The two pipe sections (1,1) have a snap-on coupling (2) which includes a slightly tapered resilient segmental sleeve (6), fitted between an axial recess (3) between the outer end of a pipe section (1) and the inner end (5) of the second pipe section. The sleeve has outer and inner resilient fingers (7,8) which, pref. at their free ends, have bent edges (9,10) over which collars (11,12) sliding over the pipe ends (5,6) may snap into position. During the snap-on operation, fingers (7,8) give way in an inclined position, so that sliding is avoided, which provides a tamper-proof locking action.</p> |
