PURPOSE:To improve a mold for a continuous casting by assembling one pair of long side wall parts and one pair of short side wall parts under condition shown in a figure, which one end of each side wall is brought into contact with inner side of the other side wall reciprocally for the long side wall and the short side wall, in an inner part of a mold-assembling-frame and arranging a width direction shifting device, by which shifts toward the width direction of the mold for both long and short wall parts. CONSTITUTION:In case of changing a width of mold cavity 12, a width of casting slab is enlarged or reduced, such as W1 W'1, W2 W'2 to a center line (C) of the mold by driving an actuater 7 or 8 consisting of a hydraulic cylinder, etc. Then, the long side wall part 2 and the short side wall part 3, or the long side wall part 1 and the short side wall part 4 are shifted as the same time integrally in a body. In case of charging, its thickness, too, a thickness of the casting slab is enlarged or reduced, such as T T' by driving an actuaters 5. In this constitution, as the shape of the casting slab is changed to a desirable rectangle shape, and the number of productions and spares for the mold is remarkably decreased. |
