PURPOSE:To enable a toll to be easily and cheaply exchanged, by extracting, with a tool gripper, a tool drum which detachably supports plural tools, to be mounted on a main spindle and then replacing the tool between a tool magazine and the main spindle by means of a tool exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A tool drum 4 detachably supporting plural tools 6 is mounted onto a table 2 through a tool pallet 3. The table 2, having an indexing function, indexes one of the tools supported by the tool drum 4 to a prescribed position. the indexed tool is held by a tool gripper 34 moved to the right by operating the second actuator 62. While, when holding of the tool is finished, the tool drum 4 lowered is integrally with the tool pallet 3, and the tool 6 is extracted from the tool drum. Next, when the gripper 34 mounts the tool on a main spindle, a tool exchanger arm replaces said tool with a tool in a tool magazine. |
