摘要 PURPOSE:To ensure that the temperature of an end part on the energizing conductor side of a heat generating element under a no-load condition (where a paper is not set) is higher than the temperature of a central part of the element, uniformize the temperature distribution in a thermal printer head under a loaded condition (where the paper is set) and prevent refuse from being adhered to a protective film on the heat generating element, by disposing end parts of the heat generating elements and end parts of the conductors in an overlapping form. CONSTITUTION:A glaze surface 3 formed of a glass or the like is provided on a plate thickness surface of a substrate 2, and a resistance heat generating element 4 is provided on the surface of the glaze layer 3 to come around to both flat surface sides by an extension of not less than 40mum. Conductors 6 electrically connected respectively to both ends of the element 4 at overlapping parts not less than 60Xm in length are provided on both end faces of the substrate 2 by vapor deposition or the like. The element 4 is covered by a heat generating element protective film 5 consisting of a glaze layer formed of an abrasion-resistance glass or the like. With this construction, the temperature of the element 4 on the energizing conductor sides under a no-load condition where a recording paper is not set is made to be higher than the temperature of a central part of the element 4, and the temperature distribution in a thermal printer head under a loaded condition where the recording paper is et is uniformized. Accordingly, a side face type head free of adhesion of dusts of the recording paper thereto and having a stable and long useful life can be obtained.
