By means of this process, in one operation, the outer side and edge part and, in a further operation, the inner side and edge part of a vessel, for example bed pans, urine bottles and kidney trays, are sprayed to wash the vessel all over. The device has a washing chamber (1) in which a vessel held on the charging cover (2) is held in a specific position with respect to a first and second washing device (3, 4). The first washing device (3) has washing nozzles (12) which are guided in a circular motion around the vessel in order to wash the outer side and edge part of the vessel, whilst the second washing device (4) is movable and rotatable in the vessel interior to wash the inner side and edge part of the vessel. <IMAGE>
