The invention relates to a support device for torque supports of axle gear housings for rail vehicles which is composed of a pendulum which is arranged in the space between two wheel sets which are mounted in the bogie frame and to which the ends, directed towards one another, of the two torque supports are connected in an articulated fashion. So that a uniform distribution of the torque to the individual wheel sets and a direct power flux is achieved from said wheel sets to the wagon body in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the pendulum (7) which transmits the draft air and compression air is suspended so as to be transversely movable at two bearing points (8, 9) arranged one behind the other on the wagon body (6) in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and the torque supports (10, 11) are coupled to the pendulum (7) in the vertical longitudinal centre plane and are spherically formed at their coupling points (12). Here, the bearing points (8, 9) of the pendulum (7) are equipped with so-called friction brakes and are provided with elastic pillows, as are the coupling points (12) of the torque supports (10, 11). <IMAGE>
