1. Process for preparing a compound of formula I R**1-OCH2 -CH(OR**2)-CH 20-R**3 wherein R**1 is benzyl, R**2 and R**3 are different and one is hydrogen and the other is C1-22 -alkyl, which comprises allowing to react R or S stereoisomeric or racemic 1-O-alkyl-2,3-O-benzyliden- glycerol or 2-O-alkyl-1,3-O-benzyliden-glycerol, wherein alkyl has the meaning given above for R**2 or R**3, with LlAlH4 , B2 H4 or AICI 3 in diethylether, dioxan, THF, dichloromethan or a mixture of those at a temperature form -20 degrees C to 100 degres C to form a benzylether of formula I. |
