1352971 Teleprinters SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [5 Feb 1970] 20602/71 Heading H4P A teleprinter receiver includes a shift register into which multi-element start/stop character signals are fed and from which a printer is controlled and to avoid false printing at end of a connection the printer is inhibited by a signal generated from the continuous stop signal present on the line at the end of a connection or by a termination, or so-called erase, signal sent by a central switching unit. A 5-bit character signal enters register stages K5-K1 by clock pulses ST, the start signal on reaching KAn opens gate G1 to stop further shifting, transfers the character to print stores A5-A1 and initiates printing via gate U and control AF. At the end of transmission the "32" (no print) signal is present in the register. When KSp is set by the start bit in KAn it provides an S signal to one input of gate G2, the other input being generated by the continuous start signal on the line which resets bi-stable KT. The output of gate G2 resets bi-stable KS to provide a blocking signal DS to print control gate U. In another arrangement logic ZS is removed and a line carrying the termination or erase signal leads via an inverter direct to gate U (Fig. 1, not shown). |
