<p>A firmware convolver equipment intended primarily to perform the discrete one-dimensional filtering phase of the filtered-backprojection algorithm applied in computerized tomograph systems. The convolution is performed in the space domain on the basis of convolution per projection. The convolver is interfaced on the one hand to the DMA channel of amini-computer, on the other hand it is connected to a backprojector capable of operating with the convolver in pipe-line mode. For the efficient utilization of the computer-convolver-backprojector system the equipment possesses a pipe-line type design. The convolver is supported by an interpolator providing an output directly applicable for backprojection based upon linear interpolation. The simplicity of the quipment is provided by address logics (4, 31, 40) designed on the principle of the discrete convolution. </p> |
