In a motor-vehicle door lock, with a lock case attachable to the end face of a motor-vehicle door and with a locking mechanism (1) attachable from inside to the end face of the motor-vehicle door, in which door lock the lock case has a pivotably mounted lock latch and a pivotably mounted detent pawl blocking the lock latch in the closing position, in which door lock the detent pawl can be actuated via a driving pin (3) extending into the locking mechanism (1), in which door lock, furthermore, the locking mechanism (1) has an inner release lever, an outer release lever (9) and a retaining lever (11), and in which door lock an anti-theft safety lever (12) blocking the driving pin (3) in the closing position of the detent pawl is provided, anti-theft safety is also possible with a coupled movement of the inner release lever and of the retaining lever (11), in that, when the inner release lever is actuated in order to open the motor-vehicle door, an actuation of the retaining lever (11) and of the anti-theft safety lever (12) takes place simultaneously, and in the closing position of the detent pawl together with the driving pin (3) and the safety position of the anti-theft safety lever (12) a specific clear distance is provided in the direction of movement of the driving pin (3) between the driving pin (3) and the anti-theft safety lever (12). <IMAGE>
