<p>A novel resin composition for paint vehicle, which comprises a saturated alicyclic acid-modified amphoteric polyester resin controlled as to the kind of acid group responsible for the acid value of the resin and an etherified amino-formaldehyde resin. This composition possesses all merits inherent to oil-free polyester resin composition such as good weathering resistance, mechanical properties of coating, interlayer adhesiveness, etc. and, in addition, the weathering resistance is further improved by modification with the saturated alicyclic acid, hardening properties are improved by controlling the kind of the acid group responsible for the acid value of the residue, and pigment-dispersing ability and compatibility with melamine resin are improved by rendering the resin amphoteric. </p> |
