Surface finishing of cast metal - by vibration during solidification

Cast plates with a decorative finish on one face, with a regular relief pattern, are produced by pref. unidirectional oscillation of a metal cast in an open mould during at least part of its solidification. The method is intended mainly for light metal. Pref. method the mould is supported by a spring mounted frame which is horizontal oscillated by interchangeable cams. The method is economical and flexible.
