The acid-hardening binder solutions prepared according to the process have a content of 5-70 % by weight of polyester, based on diols and dicarboxylic acids, dissolved in silane-containing furfuryl alcohol. These diols and dicarboxylic acids or anhydrides are preferably derived from ethanediol, diethylene glycol, propanediol or dipropylene glycol and phthalic anhydride or maleic anhydride.
