PURPOSE:To enable to increase the performance of a heat exchanger, especially the heat exchanging efficiency, by controlling roughness of the surface of material, made of silicon carbide. CONSTITUTION:The roughness of surface of silicon carbide material is designed so that the area, of which Hmax in an arbitrary area is more than 50mum occupys more than 80%. Such a roughness can be obtained by impregnating silicon into a molded body of silicon carbide at 1,700 deg.C, and by removing the excess of silicon from the surface by sand blasting after the molded body is cooled. |
