The hoist is provided on each passageway with a disc (6) for the positioning of the front wheel of the motor vehicle and with an aperture (2) in which there is accommodated a pair of plates (5, 5') supported on ball bearings (4), which are free to execute transverse and longitudinal translational movement as well as rotary movement, and lockable in a position which is centred with respect to the associated passageway (1). The lift permits the control of the tracking of the four wheels of any motor vehicle, without having to perform manoeuvres of the latter during the various measurement phases. <IMAGE>
