PURPOSE:To make it possible to inexpensively and easily perform the generation of a replenishing inert gas during the sailing of a tanker, by burning in a combustion chamber the exhaust gas high in oxygen concn. from an internal combustion engine which has conventionally been discarded to the atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:One end of an exhaust gas introducing pipe 2 is connected on the way of the combustion exhaust gas pipeline 1 of an internal combustion engine used as a main engine or an auxiliary engine in a tanker and an exhaust gas introducing fan 3 is interposed on the way of said pipe 2. In addition, the other end of the pipe 2 is connected to an auxiliary combustion burner 4 and a fuel oil pipe 5 communicated with a fuel oil tank 6 is connected to the burner 4. Further, the nozzle of the burner 4 is directed to the inside of a combustion chamber 7 and a fuel inert gas exhaust pipe 8 is connected to said chamber 7. That is, the pipe 8 is connected to an inert gas introducing pipe 12 connected to the flue 11 of a boiler 10 through a change-over valve 9. By this structure, in replenishing an inert gas during sailing, a change-over valve 13 is closed and the inert gas generated in the chamber is supplied into a cargo oil tank. |
