摘要 In order to permit the conveying means in the train-formation tracks (e.g. Z1) of a shunting system on the one hand to move forward as far as possible but on the other hand to retrieve them in each case before a following section (A7) runs into the conveying zone (F) of the respective train-formation track, provision is made in each case at the start of a conveying process for the time which is available for the respective conveying process to be determined. This is the time which passes until a following section runs into the conveying zone. In order to be able to determine this time, at the start of each conveying process the distance of the respective subsequent section from the start of the conveying zone is identified. For this purpose, the sections (A7) deposit their respective destination (Z1), with report point orientation, in a working memory (AS) when they pass by report points (MP1, MP2, MO11, MP21, MP31) arranged along their travel paths. By means of travel path-oriented interrogation of the memory locations (MP31, MP11,....) of the working memory counter to their write-in direction regarding the stored destinations (Z1), the respective subsequent sections (A7) and thus their distance from the section (A5) ahead can be identified. <IMAGE>
