PURPOSE:To prepare a large amount of 5-hydroxy-L-tryptophan, by cultivating Achromobacter liquidum in a medium containing L-glutamic acid or its salt to give a mold, treating it with 5-hydroxyindole, pyruvic acid, and ammonia. CONSTITUTION:Achromobacter liquidum is cultivated in a nutritive medium containing 0.5-2wt% L-glutamic acid or its salt by shaking culture, and its mold is separated. The mold or a treated material thereof is treated with 10- 200mg/ml 5-hydroxyindole, 10-200mg/ml pyruvic acid, and 10-200mg/ml ammonia, to give 5-hydroxy-L-tryptophan. The reaction temperature is 20-50 deg.C, and the reaction pH is 7-11. |
