PURPOSE:To increae the density of the recording track pitch, by forming a reproduction gap between two magnetic heads on an adjacent concentric track with a shift in the rotary circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:A gap distance l is secured between record/reproduction heads 3a and 3b in the sheet revolving direction, and at the same time a distance D is set between head cores. If l is set at 500mum, a ratio between the level of a reproduced signal and a harmful signal level due to the crosstalk between heads can be kept at >=40dB althrough the core distance D is set close to 30mum. When the core width is set at 50mum, then the track pitch is set at 80mum. In such a way, the recording density is improved >=6 times as high as conventional one by distributing heads so as to reduce the crosstalk between these heads. |
