PURPOSE:To lower further the transmission rate of a component color video signal to be transmitted, by sampling a chrominance signal on each other line, and reducing the data amount of a transmitted color difference signal. CONSTITUTION:A color difference signal is sampled or each other line and sampled at the sampling intervals of 4Px in the horizontal direction (e.g., 1/fsc). The 1st field sampling signal and that of the 2nd field sampling signal different in phase and shifted in 1/2 of the horizontal sampling interval (=2Px). This sampling signal is formed by a color subcarrier. Since the sampling is performed or each other line, the vertical sampling interval is wider than the conventional (2,1,1) system, and the sampling spectrum is generated at the position of pi/2Py. Since the band of the color difference signal has 1.5MHz originally, the component of the sampling spectrum is not mixed in the band of the color difference signal and no switching noise is generated. Further, the picture quality of the picture is almost the same as (2,1,1) system. |
