PURPOSE:To prepare ethanol in high productivity and high fermentation ratio, by fermenting starch using the polyploid of a specific yeast. CONSTITUTION:Ethanol is prepared in high productivity and high fermentation ratio, by fermenting starch using a polyploid yeast, Saccharomyces diastaticus F4 strain (FERM-P No.6710) having cycloheximide resistance and improved amylase, sucrase and ethanol productivities, and obtained by the cell fusion of Saccharomyces diastaticus RD-22-10 strain (FERM-P No.6709) devoid of respiratory function and having cycloheximide resistance with the normal Saccharomyces diastaticus IFO-1046 strain. |
