PURPOSE:To detect bilirubin in urine with good sensitivity, by using a test piece containing a specific compound as an accelerator in case of the reaction of bilirubin with a diazonium salt. CONSTITUTION:An impregnating liquid is prepared by dissolving an acid in purified water, and, if necessary, adding a surface active agent and a stabilizer solution, and then dissolving a diazonium salt. A carrier such as filter paper is impregnated with the first impregnating liquid obtained in above-mentioned way, and air-dried at 40-60 deg.C. The second impregnating liquid is prepared by dissolving a compound having a general formula described below, in an acetic ester or chloroform. The carrier impregnated with the first impregnating liquid, is again impregnated with the second impregnating liquid, and air-dried at 40- 60 deg.C. The resulting carrier is stuck onto a supporter such as polystyrene sheet with the use of double-side adhesive tape, and then the stuck supporter is cut into pieces of size proper for use. Thus test pieces for detecting bilirubin with improved sensitivity are obtained. |
