PURPOSE:To permit the press molding of an expanded interior having a three- layered structure as well as prevent the loss of elasticity during the press molding period by a method in which an unexpanded resin having a desired characteristic is heated before molding and expanded inside a force by a cold press molding method. CONSTITUTION:An unexpanded thermoplastic resin sheet 3 trimmed by cutting is put into an infrared heater device 10 to heat it to the melting point of an inside base resin, whereupon the resin sheet 3 is expanded in the thickwise direction. A core member 2 is placed on the face 1a of a cold press bottom force 1, an expandible resin sheet 3 plasticized and expanded by heating is laminated on the core member 2, and a surface skin member 4 is placed on the upside of the expandible resin sheet 3. Under the condition, the top and bottom force 5 and 1 of a cold press are soon coupled with each other to deform the surface skin member 4 and the expandible resin sheet 3 by the coupling pressure along the shape of the cavity. The resin sheet 3 is solidified in the expanded state and a molding having each part of which is integrally combined is formed in the force. The resin sheet 3 is solidified by cooling under a condition that an expansion ratio corresponding to the thickness of cavity is kept, and the shape of the molding is kept correspondingly to the compression ratio. |
