PURPOSE:To eliminate missing of printing information and adverse effect on hardwares due to non-coincidence between the processing program and papers loaded, poor setting or the like by checking for the possibility of printing comparing printing information column received with a means of detecting column- wise position of the printing paper. CONSTITUTION:Sensors 9 are arranged in a row corresponding to columns of a hammer 4 in a printing equipment 1 to detect the width of a paper 5 loaded and the number of columns in the printing information received is compared with the output of a paper column-wise position detecting circuit 12 with a printing possibility checking circuit 13. When it is not in the printing possible area, a collation prohibiting instruction is sent to a collation circuit 14 to stop the printing operation corresponding to the column involved and an alarm sounds. This enables a check to make sure that the printing is completed while preventing idle striking of the hammer thereby improving the reliability processing and protecting the equipment. |
