PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of casting defects such as cavities owing to the intrusion of gas during vacuum suction casting, by closing tightly the sprue of a casting mold in a vacuum suction casting device with a sealant made of metal similar to casting metal and a foil member for sealing. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum suction casting device 3 provided with a sprue 1 is supported with a hook 7' of a clamping frame 7 suspended to a hydraulic cylinder 6 fixed to an upper frame 5 and the sprue 1 thereof is placed above a furnace 11 contg. a molten Al alloy 10. A sealing member 19 made of an Al alloy similar to the molten metal 10 to be cast is mounted to the sprue 1, and the outside thereof is coated with Al alloy foil 20 having the similar quality, then the inside of the casting cavity 16 of a casting mold 4 is evacuated with a vacuum suction device 9. The sprue 1 is closed with the rigid sealing member 19 and the outside thereof is coated with the foil 20 and therefore the intrusion of air from the sealing material by reduced pressure is prevented. If the sprue 1 is immersed in the molten metal 10, the sealing material melts immediately and the molten metal 10 is vacuum sucked and cast into the cavity 16 without intrusion of air. |
