The intermediate bearing for screw conveyors is situated between two consecutive screw conveyor sections (1, 2), which are rigidly connected to each other by a bearing journal (5). On the bearing journal, two ball bearings (4) are situated at an axial distance apart, their outer rings being enclosed by a sleeve-like part (3). This sleeve-like part forms the continuation of the shaft parts (2, 7) of the screw conveyor sections and is rigidly connected to the frame structure of the screw conveyor. A slight play (12) is therefore provided between the rotating shaft parts (2, 7) and the sleeve-like part (3). The cylindrical space (6) between the bearing journal and the sleeve-like part (3) is filled with lubricant. Sealing relative to the material being conveyed by the screw conveyor is provided by sealing rings (11) on the outside of the bearings (4). <IMAGE> |
