PURPOSE:To prevent uneven moistening of a cylinder head by piercing a horizontal water conducting pipe in the cylinder block joint part at the periphery of a hole for insertion of a dry line and by forming a water passage diverging at its middle upward and leading to the uppersurface of the clock. CONSTITUTION:A water conducting pipe 16, which is made of a metal with high thermal conductivity such as copper and penetrates the joint part 10 horizontally, is embedded in this joint part 10 at the periphery of a hole for insertion of the liner of a dry liner type cylinder block 1, and a passage therein 17 puts the suction side water seal 11 in communication with the exhaust side water seal 12. The bottom of a water passage 18 whose top is open at the uppersurface 1a of the cylinder block is connected with the uppersurface of the water conducting pipe 16 at its middle part, being bored aslant toward the opposite side to the holes 13, 14 for the cooling water. |
