PURPOSE:To improve a processing speed and to perform a good picture processing by specifying a processing area smaller than one picture to limit a range to be processed and excluding an unnecessary picture part outside a bit map window set in the processing area from an object to be processed. CONSTITUTION:The area of the bit map window (area enclosed by dashed lines) BMW for masking the unnecessary picture part is stored in a frame memory 4, and in a serial reading control part 7, the data for specifying the processing area PR, namely, leading addresses AR, AC indicating the lead of the directions of a line and a column of the frame memories 1, 4 and width WR, WC of the directions of the line and the column are inputted. Under this state, the one picture taken by an industrial camera 2 is stored in the frame memory 1. Thereafter, the serial reading control part 7 successively outputs the data in the serial processing area PR from the leading address (AR, AC) of the frame memories 1, 4 serially. A picture processor 8 does not perform the picture processing when the data read from the frame memory 4 is zero. |
