PURPOSE:To feedback control the ignition timing to the optimal level corresponding to the engine operating condition by providing an ignition timing detecting section for detecting the ignition timing as the ion current on the fuel injection nozzle of Diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:A hollow hole is provided through a nozzle holder 2 of a fuel injection nozzle and inserted with a core wire 10 insulated by an insulator 11. Since the core wire 10 is electrically floating from the earth through the insulator 11, it is brought to the ion producing potential during combustion to output the ignition timing to a control circuit 24. On the basis of the detected levels from a rotation sensor 21, load sensor 22, crank angle sensor 23, the control circuit 24 will feedback control the fuel injection timing of the fuel pump 21 through an actuator 26 such that the difference between the target ignition timing to be determined in accordance with rotation and load and the ignition timing from the core wire 10 will be zero. |
