PURPOSE:To improve the resolution, by arranging a green stripe filter with higher ratio than other two color filters, in a color solid-state image pickup device using th stripe filters of three primary colors. CONSTITUTION:A charge transfer section 12 of CCD constitution transferring horizontally chrominance component signals r, g, b obtained from each one-dimensional solid-state image pickup element 11 in the order of r1, g1, b1, g2, r2, g2, b2... is provided, the chrominance component signals r, g, b from an amplifier 20 amplifying the output signal are sampled and held at sample-and- hold circuits 41'43 respectively, the sample period of the green color component signal (g) is taken as T and the sample period of the red and blue chrominance component signals r, b is taken as 2T to obtain new chrominance component signals r', g', b' with individual delay. The chrominance component signals r', g', b' are sampled and synthesized to obtain a luminance signal y. Thus, the chrominance component signal of the signal y is rearranged substantially in the order of r1, g1, b1, r2..., allowing to improve the resolution. |
