PURPOSE:To inform an excellent running property even in high humidity, by constituting so that a supporting body of a magnetic layer shows a specified absorption factor in the longitudinal direction, when the magnetic layer is removed from the supporting body. CONSTITUTION:A supporting body on which a magnetic layer consisting of a metallic thin film is formed so as to show an absorption factor of <=0.4% in the longitudinal direction, when the magnetic layer is removed from the supporting body. In this way, a running property in high humidity can be made satisfactory, and a magnetic recording medium being suitable for short wavelength recording is obtained. |
