PURPOSE:To shorten a section on which a magnet operates, and to make a device small-sized, by using plural magnets for disordering an orientation of a magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid in which ferromagnetic fine particles are dispersed in a coupling agent dissolved by a solvent is coated to a band-like nonmagnetic supporting body 2 by a coating device 3. Before the coating liquid is dried and solidified, plural rod-like magnets 4 are divided and disposed in the width direction of the supporting body 2 at some inclined angle in the coating direction. Orientation of the ferromagnetic fine particles in the coating liquid is disordered by a magnetic field generated from the magnet 4 having a magnetic pole face extending in the longitudinal direction. Thereafter, the solvent is removed by a drying oven 5, the coupling agent is dried and solidified, and the disordered ferromagnetic fine particles are held and fixed. In this way, the nonmagnetic supporting body on which a magnetic recording layer is provided is wound by a winding part 6. As for the magnet 4, an alnico magnet, a Ba-ferrite magnet, a rare earth cobalt magnet, etc. are used. |
