PURPOSE:To discriminate abnormality of a device before picture information is stored and reproduced, by constituting so that each part of the device can be self-diagnosed, at the initial time by use of a controlling circuit. CONSTITUTION:A controlling circuit 77 is constituted of a register 79 for storing a target track number of a host computer, an up-down counter 81 corresponding to a pulse from an address pulse generating circuit 21, an operating circuit 83 for calculating a difference between a counting value of this counter 81 and a target position signal of the register 79, a function generating circuit 85, an eccentric quantity register 87 of an optical disk 1, a memory 89, etc. The circuit 77 controls a linear motor in accordance with a difference between reproducing and target track numbers supplied from a decoder. Also, driving abnormality of a rotating body, generation abnormality of beam light, focus abnormality, abnormality of the linear motor, etc. are monitored by use of a timer 95, and when it is decided to be normal, the device becomes a recording start mode. |
