PURPOSE:To obtain an optical disk which is capable of storing and reproducing under an optimum condition, by providing a discriminating code storage area for storing a discriminating code for showing a characteristic of the optical disk on the optical disk, and an information storage area for storing the information. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk 19 is provided with a discriminating code storage area 19b for storing a discriminating code given at the time of delivery from a factory, a completion data storage area 19c which can store a data given when the discriminating code is stored in a floppy disk, a picture information storage area 19e, and a titled dump list storage area 19f for storing the picture information of a retrieval data. In the discriminating code storage area 19b, year and month of storage, and a manufacturing number are stored as control information with a film, depth of a groove and track pitch information are stored as original disk information, a series number is stored as stamper control information, and a film structure and film thickness are stored as film forming information. |
