The medicament according to the invention, which can be used as a stimulant of the neuromuscular transmission of smooth muscles and of the conduction of the nerve impulse in the peripheral and central nervous systems, contains as active substance 9-amino-2,3,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-1H-cyclopenta[b]quinoline monohydrate hydrochloride of formula: <IMAGE> and a pharmaceutical diluent. This product finds application in the treatment of various pathologies of the peripheral nervous system associated with disorders of motility, in the therapy of the sequelae of long-standing circulatory pathologies of the brain, for stimulating labour in childbirth, treating patients suffering from atony and dyskinesia of the digestive tract, and the like.
