PURPOSE:To obtain a recording carrier free of variation in its film thickness by a simplified apparatus having a system in which a radiation-curable lacquer is placed on a transfer mold, a plastic base plate with sealed peripheral ends is pressingly contacted with the transfer mold, a radiation is irradiated onto the lacquer for curing, and the base plate is separated. CONSTITUTION:A radiation-curable lacquer 5 is placed on the central part of the surface of a transfer mold 6, and a plastic base plate 2 with hermetically sealed peripheral ends is pressingly contacted with the transfer mold 6 while deforming the base plate 2 into a symmetrically spherical form by means of air pressure 9, in such a way that the lacquer 5 is stretched in the aperture between the plastic base plate 2 and the transfer mold 6. The lacquer layer is then uniformly pressed to make the film thickness even and a radiation 10 is irradiated onto the lacquer layer for hardening. The plastic base plate 2 to which the hardened lacquer layer is closely adhered is separated from the transfer mold 6 to obtain a recording carrier to transfer such relief patterns as signal bit, guide groove, etc. |
