A contact arrangement for a vacuum switch is formed from contact rods which can move relative to one another and from at least one magnet coil which is arranged between the contact rod and a contact plate which produces the contact. The magnet coil produces an axial magnetic field. In order to reduce currents which would excessively weaken the magnetic field, the contact plate has deliberate material reinforcements in order to improve the conductivity in zones. Such zones are formed, for example, by conductor webs which are applied to the underneath of the contact plate.
