A paper transporting device of this type for printers, in particular dot matrix printers, has transporting paths for individual and/or continuous forms which have partial widths and comprises individually drivable, divided, equiaxial impression cylinders (6a, 6b) or separate individual tractors (15a, 15b), having pins (45) attached to tractor belts, for edge-perforated paper webs (5a, 5b) with a drivable drive motor (7), in particular with a stepping drive motor. In order to drive both a partial impression cylinder (6a, 6b) and an individual tractor (15a, 15b) when using a single drive motor (7), it is proposed that the drive motor (7) be reversible in its direction of rotation and one partial impression cylinder (6a) or one first individual tractor (15a) be drivable in one direction of rotation and another partial impression cylinder (6b) or the second individual tractor (15b) be drivable in the other direction of rotation, always in the transporting direction (5c) of the paper web. <IMAGE>
